About

Green Day is an American rock band formed in 1987 in the East Bay, California, comprising Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals and guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass), and Tré Cool (drums). With their distinctive blend of punk energy, infectious pop hooks and socially conscious lyrics, they catapulted punk rock into the mainstream mainstream with 1994's Dookie and became cultural icons through concept albums like American Idiot. A first-ballot Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee with over 75 million records sold globally, Green Day remains a driving force in rock music with active touring and continued creative releases.
