American punk-rock band Dead Kennedys formed in San Francisco in 1978. Merging revolutionary politics with hardcore punk music, the band became one the defining hardcore bands of the 80’s.  Early songs such as ‘Lets Lynch the Landlord’ and ‘Chemical warfare’ demonstrated the acute sense of humour and political commentary from the band. Dead Kennedys released 4 albums before breaking up in the 1986. Reforming in 2001, the band continues to perform live, but have not released any new material since 1986.
