2024 Highlights: Hasbro’s Legendary Brands Take Centre Stage

This year has been an exciting one as we welcomed Hasbro into the fold, marking a major milestone for the Merchantwise portfolio. Partnering with a global powerhouse in the toy and game space, we are thrilled to represent such an iconic lineup of beloved properties.

2024 has been a year of big milestones as three beloved brands in the Hasbro portfolio celebrated significant anniversaries. Dungeons & Dragons marked its monumental 50th Anniversary with global collaborations from LEGO, Converse, and Australia’s very own Black Milk, and will wrap up it’s milestone year with the highly anticipated Dungeons & Dragons: The Twenty Sided Tavern making it’s Australian debut this December at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Peppa Pig celebrated her incredible 20th Anniversary, proving she remains a timeless favourite for families worldwide. To mark the occasion, Gong Cha launched an adorable limited-edition range featuring Peppa Pig-themed steel tumblers, tritan water bottles, and keychains. Additionally, Peppa Pig visited Paradise Country in September to launch their “Spring on the Farm” campaign, where she will continue to delight fans all summer long.

Transformers also celebrated their 40th Anniversary this year. The iconic brand took centre stage this year with a successful movie launch “Transformers:One” in September, with the movie receiving an impressive 89% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans could not get enough of Transformers this year as specialty retailers such as Peter Alexander launched Transformers sleepwear as part of their Toy Box collection. The launch introduced a new generation to the iconic Autobots and Decepticons, while parents and collectors revelled in the memories of their childhood classics.

Strategic partnerships and delivering innovative product launches has been our key focus in 2024. This year, we’ve had impressive results collaborating with specialty and grocery channels in bringing new and exciting categories to the ANZ market.

Monopoly enjoyed a sweet and successful year as Nestlé Allen’s unveiled a delicious new range inspired by Hasbro’s Monopoly. The Monopoly x Allens collaboration brings to life classic board game pieces in the form of lollies, featuring fan-favourite Allen’s flavours – classic Strawberry Hotel, the playful and pink Raspberry Dog, the lightning-fast Green Apple Car, the zesty Orange Top Hat, and the delightful Pineapple Duck.

Magic: The Gathering made a stellar debut at EB Games and Zing, launching with an impressive range of apparel and accessories. The collection encapsulates the essence of the iconic trading card game, captivating both long-time fans and new players entering the franchise. The success of the launch is a testament to the world’s first trading card game continuing to dominate and resonate in the ANZ market.

Peppa Pig and PJ Masks officially landed in Smiggle this year, bringing kids’ favourite characters into the schoolyard with must-have stationery and accessories. The collection extends towards a wide range of backpacks, lunchware, accessories and many more.

And not to forget My Little Pony extended its collaboration with Weatherbeeta and Horselands this year, launching a second Apple Jack collection in November to great success. This partnership has brought the beloved ponies into the equestrian space, delighting fans of all ages.
